Hello Northeast, if you have Netflix, there is a great miniseries about the Roman emperors called The Roman Empire, it is really interesting and informative, if you have Disney + I suggest you check out Ant-Man or The Rise of Skywalker, both fun, breezy summer fun movies!

Victory Garden II
The work continues on the Victory Garden. I had to add a third level to the retaining wall on the left side because of the steep slope on the hill.
My friend Andy lent me his tiller so that I could turn the soil in the garden itself and I was able to use it to loosen the soil in the flower bed so that I could plant the wildflowers and sunflower seeds. I found some great compost in the back of the yard, it was yard waste and leaves that was dumped there over the years. I added this to the Victory garden, it is dark soil loaded with worms.
I still need to complete the walkway between the Victory Garden and the flower bed once my hammies loosen some more, feel the burn! My wife is looking for ornaments to put on top of the wall.

Victory Garden
My Daughter planted a garden at her house in New Hampshire and I told her that I liked her “Victory Garden”. She asked, “Victory Garden”?
During WWII there was severe rationing on everything for the war effort and the government promoted the idea of growing a Victory Garden. I always like gardening, I had a hay bale garden a few years ago on the sunny side of the house and it was awesome, you have to make sure that you use the first crop hay, it doesn’t have as many seeds in it. After 3 years I had to replace the hay bales and in my haste got the third cut hay and it did not produce the veggies I got out of the first year hay bales.
So, I decided to put a garden on the top of the small hill adjacent to my neighbors’ fence so that we could share in the harvest. Brenna the 8-year-old is very excited about the garden, I asked her to let me know what she wanted in it. Yesterday I found 2 packs of strawberry plants on the fence, they are very difficult to grow. I decided to build a few window boxes for the fence to keep them off the ground. I think that will help keep the crawlers away, but it will make it more accessible to the flyers.
I still have to build a small retaining wall so that nobody goes tumbling down the hill.
